Congratulations Erin P. on being FlexRN’s Nurse of the Month for March!
When FlexRN thinks about what we would call the “ideal corrections nurse,” one particular nurse comes to mind. We are pleased to announce FlexRN Nurse Erin P. as our March Nurse of the Month. Erin is currently working with Flex as a seasoned correctional nurse in New York. She is a leader in providing patient care in one of the most difficult nursing environments. Erin is reliable and is always willing to assist her fellow teammates. She often works 16-hour days and is called in to fill last minute urgent needs. You can guarantee that Erin is always there to lend a helping hand as needed.
Being a correctional RN, you’re behind concrete walls all day with no windows and no personal cell phone to connect with family and friends on your breaks. It’s strictly caring for people and in a sometimes very hostile environment. Erin does this with ease and because of her understanding and calm nature she often connects with her patients when others can’t. She never refers to them as inmates, they are all patients to her regardless of why they are there. Erin truly has a gift for being empathetic while maintaining boundaries and following strict security measures. We think she makes the perfect corrections nurse because of her flexibility, ability to juggle multiple priorities and her solid care-giving skills. Erin’s recruiter, Brandi also noted that she enjoys speaking with Erin because she is such a joy to talk to and always full of positive energy.
Thank you Erin for being a great nurse and support to your patients. You exemplify our FlexRN culture and values each and everyday and we couldn’t be happier to call you one of our own. We look forward to seeing what’s in store for your nursing career!
And Erin, don’t forget! For this honor please be on the lookout for a special card and gift in your mailbox from your team here at FlexRN.
