Getting to know more about FlexRN Nurse Katrina!
Q: What is your specialty in nursing?
A: My nursing specialty is Corrections. I maintain the Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) certification through NCCHC (National Commission on Correctional Health Care).
Q: How long have you been working as a nurse? And with FlexRN?
A: I have been an RN for 4 years. Prior to becoming an RN I was a Licensed Nursing Assistant for almost 3 years in long-term care. I have been with FlexRN for 6 months… my 1st travel nurse assignment.
Q: Why did you choose to become a nurse?
A: I chose to become a nurse because the human body and its functions always fascinated me, and I excelled at understanding it.
Q: Any hobbies/activities you enjoy outside of nursing?
A: Outside of work I jog for exercise and to relax my mind. My hobbies include jewelry making, sewing, and motorcycle riding.
Q: What are some things you enjoy about working with the team at FlexRN?
A: I enjoy working with the team at FlexRN because they are attentive, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional.
Q: Would you recommend FlexRN to other nurses? Why?
A: I would highly recommend FlexRN to others because I have had such a positive experience with the company as a whole. As a matter of fact, I have recently recommended FlexRN to a co-worker who was previously with another agency and looking to negotiate a new contract.
Q: Do you have any advice you would like to pass along to other travel nurses?
A: If I could advise other travel nurses, I would say, ‘Be happy with the service you are receiving from a travel nurse agency. If you are not getting the service you need or like, don’t hesitate to find another company that that will work with and for you.’ Luckily, I found FlexRN on my 1st try and couldn’t be happier.
Q: Anything else you would like us to know about you or mention?
A: To those who haven’t tried travel nursing yet, I would say, ‘Take the plunge. It just may be experience you’ve been wanting and the freedom you’ve been needing.’
